Finding Trail Descriptions

So as not to repeat myself excessively, I am reducing the amount of description of trails that have already been posted. Please use the search function ( upper left) to find older posts which have more detailed trail descriptions and pictures. You can also use this to find specific hikes either by trail or mountain.

11/2/11 Hidden Ponds

Another cold sunny day. We decide to explore the new loop trail at Hidden Ponds. We started from the parking area on Rte. 182 . We were expecting the trail to circle all of the ponds but this turned out not to be the case. As you start up the old trail to Tilden Pond you come to a fork which takes you left ( the trail on above map is just a guess) and we realized the loop was going to be shorter. After completing the loop we took the old trail to Tilden Pond ( a sign says 'no longer maintained' but it was in good shape).

We found a little used trail that seemed an extension and followed that to a small pond where the trail became difficult to follow and we turned back.

So even though the new trail did not meet our expectations it was a beautiful day and a nice hike ( lots of water for Kelley) . 3 hours
