Finding Trail Descriptions

So as not to repeat myself excessively, I am reducing the amount of description of trails that have already been posted. Please use the search function ( upper left) to find older posts which have more detailed trail descriptions and pictures. You can also use this to find specific hikes either by trail or mountain.

5/6/12 Hunters Brook - Day Mountain

A sunny start with temps around 50 and little wind- very nice hiking weather. We started from the Day Mountain parking area on Rte. 3 and took the Lower Day mountain Trail.

There are several trails that lead off the main trail. This one took us to the water but if you look closely you can see that Kelley could not navigate along the rocks.

Hunters Beach

From Hunters Beach we took the trail up to Cooksey Drive and the highway for a 10 minute walk to the Hunters Brook trail head.

Hunters Brook took us the carriage road which we followed to the Day Mountain Trail.

By the time we reached the summit we were losing our sun and the last half hour was under cloudy skies.

We met some other hikers on the Day Mountain Trail and this made Kelley happy as they were all friendly and gave her some attention. A nice hike  3 hours.
