5/9/14 City Forest

A little cooler but still a nice day. Way behind with garden work so we saved driving time by going to the nearby forest. We started from the end of Kittredge Rd. and walked down the hill to the pond- this way gives Kelley the beaver pond at both the start and finish of the hike.

Today there were two geese ( which I had not seen here before) and a Mallard.

We did find signs of spring.

We followed the West Trail to the rail bed and then took that to a side trail and back to West. There was lots of water around besides the beaver pond- marshy area beside the rail bed.

One more swim

before we climb the hill from the beaver pond

Pretty good hike , lots of people with dogs, runners, and bikers, all of which makes Kelley happy as she likes to greet everyone, and, of course, lots of water. 1  3/4 hours
