Finding Trail Descriptions

So as not to repeat myself excessively, I am reducing the amount of description of trails that have already been posted. Please use the search function ( upper left) to find older posts which have more detailed trail descriptions and pictures. You can also use this to find specific hikes either by trail or mountain.

8/5/14 Marsh Island

A little warmer and more humid but still a nice day. No deer flies and few mosquitoes. I wanted, one more time,  to check the patches of milkweed by the river for Monarchs. We did our usual route  from Hillside Ave. with a stop at the pond for Kelley and a couple of pictures for me.

When we got to the section just before Peter's Field there was someone cutting trees and we had to work our way through leftover limbs and branches ( I'm assuming they will clean this up when they finish harvesting). When we got near the river we found the milkweed flowers were finished for this year and no Monarchs.

We went down the steep bank of the river to share an apple and give Kelley access to the river.

A few more pictures on the way back

Turned out to be a pretty good hike- a relief to not have to contend with deer flies and Kelley seemed happy with the trails.  2  hours
