Finding Trail Descriptions

So as not to repeat myself excessively, I am reducing the amount of description of trails that have already been posted. Please use the search function ( upper left) to find older posts which have more detailed trail descriptions and pictures. You can also use this to find specific hikes either by trail or mountain.

11/12/14 City Forest

Gray 50's with light drizzle - rain is forecast so we went to the nearby forest. we parked in the regular parking lot instead at the end of Kittredge Rd. where we usually park and walk across the meadow and down the hill to the beaver pond. When Kelley got out of the car she knew this was  different and looked at me as if to say, "what about the pond?" We detoured down to the pond  soon after we started.

and then continued on West to the side trail we take to the old rail bed. It was looking kind of wintry .

Some reflections along side the rail bed

Most leaves are now on the ground but we found  some still on a bush

and Tamarack

At the junction we got back on the West Trail to complete our loop. Kelley wanted to go back for one last swim in the pond before we finished.

While she was swimming I noticed a turtle just under the water in a puddle and picked it put for a picture. It didn't  look happy with this move.

Dreary day with continual drizzle which intensified near the end so I was glad to see the car. Kelley seemed happy all the water and we  also met several people with dogs.   2  hours

  1. Ha-that is a grumpy face! Love it.
You take such beautiful photos. I think late fall has so much beauty. Some folks see dismal and dead. They should get out and really SEE things.
    Have a great weekend
