Finding Trail Descriptions

So as not to repeat myself excessively, I am reducing the amount of description of trails that have already been posted. Please use the search function ( upper left) to find older posts which have more detailed trail descriptions and pictures. You can also use this to find specific hikes either by trail or mountain.

1/9/15 DeMeritt Forest

Cloudy, 20's , snowing, and windy. Yesterday's high was two degrees and we just walked around the neighborhood.

There had been some traffic on the roads and some of the trails but the snow was still not packed down. Kelley was enthusiastic and didn't seem bothered - she is good at using other's tracks.

One advantage of several cold days was that trails that are usually wet were frozen . We followed the route shown on the map, bypassing trails that no one had used.

One nice leaf

Part of the Red Trail - one of the prettier sections.

Not a bad hike. The light snow continued but the wind stopped and it was comfortable once we were moving - also pretty with the new snow.  2  1.4 hours

  1. Another fine hike. Have you ever figured out how many miles you're doing? Your doctor must LOVE you!

    1. Thanks Sue - it was a good one. I seldom know the miles unless it's a fixed hike with known mileage and we don't do many of those. I go by time for - Kelley's sake, since that's why we are out there and try for 2 - 3 hours and we miss few days. It is good for me too.
