Finding Trail Descriptions

So as not to repeat myself excessively, I am reducing the amount of description of trails that have already been posted. Please use the search function ( upper left) to find older posts which have more detailed trail descriptions and pictures. You can also use this to find specific hikes either by trail or mountain.

2/3/15 Back to Dover-Foxcroft

Snowed all day yesterday and we just walked around the neighborhood. This morning we had sun but cold - 7 degrees when we started - and wind  We hoped the trail had been used and knew we would be able to park the car. The roads over were mostly packed snow so we drove more slowly than usual.

There had been little traffic on the trail and it had not been groomed after the new snow but the footing was not bad and the  trees gave us protection from the wind

When we reached this frozen stream we turned back

As we headed back the sky started to cloud up - our timing had been pretty good.

Turned out to be a pretty good outing. We only met one snowmobile, Kelley liked the nice powdery snow, and we got in  2  1/4 hours.

  1. Wow-gorgeous out there. Love how Kelley waits in the deepest part of the snow-not in the path.
Looks like you've really gotten nailed with snow. I'm envious. It's just a few flurries here and there. Detroit got nailed--17 inches---but who wants to live in Detroit?!?!?!
    Ha!
    Have a good day

    1. Thanks Sue- we do have a lot of snow and more coming tomorrow. Makes Kelley happy. I'd prefer it a little warmer. I used to live in Detroit.
